Baked Peaches

Peaches are a fabulous desert when baked and served with creme fraiche.

Bake two halves of a peach drizzled with a teaspoon of acacia honey in a shallow dish at gas mark 4 for half an hour.

Serve sprinked with a teaspoon of browned almond flakes and a teaspoon of raspberry sauce. Add a dollop of creme fraiche or vanilla ice cream as an extra treat.

Tips on picking peaches

If you are lucky enough to pick the peaches from the tree yourself, please remember that peaches are softer than most other fruits. That is why it is important to pick them gently, with as little pressure as possible. Avoid bruising the peaches as you pick them by using the entire length of your fingers rather your fingertips. Hold the peach firmly and pull it straight off the branch. finally, dont forget to place the peach in the basket rather than dropping it from a height.
